Delvina General Info

It is a small town in Southern Albania, for 18 km in the northeast from Saranda. Delvina is the capital of district. At the peak of the hill lies the ancient city of Foinike. Delvina and  its areas offers one of the most beautiful natural tourist natural attractions of Albania, the source of the Blue Eye. But there are also many other natural attractions that you can visit in this area, which will make you to enjoy the nature with all its attractions such as the Stugara mountain, the valley of Galisht, Dhrovjan village, Çiflik, the source of the Bistrica etc..
 
 

The Blue Eye

It is one of the most beautiful natural attractions of all Albania. Here we meet together the pure-crystal water, the green old trees, the fresh air and the healthy climate, witch make this place very frequented, 365 days of the year. The Azure Eye is situated 18 km in the northeast of Saranda. The legends about this place are numerous but the most famous is that of the beautiful girls witch became sacrificed to the divinities to keep the water and give it pure. The daily tourism is very developed here, because of magic
environments around the Azure Eye.
 

Food and accommodation

The most recommended accommodation structure is the city of Saranda but if you want to enjoy more than a day at the Azure Eye, there is a small and nice tourist village, with small woody villas, bar, restaurant and entertainment environments. The restaurant offers the fresh fish of the sea and also the Mediterranean cuisine. It is famous the mussel of Butrinti.
 

Rrëzoma

An area with typical Mediterranean vegetation and hilly relief. Entire territory represents a combination of valleys, slopes, high peaks. Characterized by a high biodiversity of habitats and species where we can distinguish a significant number of aromatic-medical plants. Formations of the hilly area of Phlomis fruticosa, which represent the penultimate stage of forest degradation Quercetum ilicis, due to cuts especially abusive and intensive grazing. Formation on the value of this territory remains Ostryo-Carpinion. The particularity of this formation is the presence of individuals Ostrya carpinifolia, Cornus mas, Corylus avellana and Carpinus orientalis in dimensions without meeting all over Albania, giving the scientific area of great value, especially from the standpoint of dynamic fitosociological. In the upper limit of forest vegetation the formations meet the monoculture, almost virgin of Abies borisii-Regis, which create very nice landscapes. All the area has powerful tourist values.

Geo-monuments
The Fossils of Lefterhori. 540 m above the sea level, on limestone rock site, 100 m long and 50 m wide. Road-Lefterhor Delvina.

The earth-dunes of Muzina. Found near the village of the same name, 400-500 m above the sea level. It is highly degraded landscape in the clay of the quaternary, coming from the heights as a result of erosion, damage to vegetation and soil. By the road-Saranda Blue Eye-Muzinë.

The Karst of Delvina. Situated near Delvina. It is kars scenery in the limestone of Crete, with underground and surface shapes, still unexplored. Going to Delvina.

The Way of the Snake. Situated near the Pass of Muzina, in the western slope of Mount Stugarë. There are two layers of of bush vegetation and trees on the slope above,  completely bared. The Karst of Bashaj. Constitutes in karst scenery, in the limestone of Crete, with many karst forms, still unexplored. Delvina-Bashaj itinerary

Tatzati Cave.  Karst cave in limestone, 100-150 m long, 4-5 m wide, 80-10 m high still unexplored. Delvina-Tatzeti itinerary.

Hydromonuments

Tatzati Resources.  400 m above the level. Come out overa than  10 lithological-tectonic karst springs in the contact limestone-flysch,. Those create an attractive environment. Delvina-Tatzat itinerary.

Kardhikaqi Waterfall. It is formed in limestone, with m of height and 1-2 m f width. Creates an attractive environment. Delvina-Kardhikaq itinerary.

The karst Source of Oknos. Lefterhor. It is a  lithological-tectonic karst source in contact with limestone-flysch. Very clean water, it creates attractive environment. Lefterhor-Delvina itinerary.

  Blue Eye. Muzinë located near the village, municipality Mesopotamia, the Mediterranean forest (50 ha), consisting of qarr, shparth, Bulger, bungëbutë higrofile vegetation and rich fauna and diverse. Sources come in contact tektoniko karst-limestone-terrigenous litologjik by a vertical shaft, 45 m deep. The source was damaged three years of coming to bring the mountain çakull quarry. There are scientific values, hydrological, biological, aesthetic, didactic tour. Road Sarande-examined by Muzinë.
